The Historical Society of East Pennsboro Township will hold an event on June 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate the restoration and refurnishing of the historic Enola Miller House, at 51 Miller St. in Enola.

The community is invited to join the celebration, featuring food and refreshments, live music, guided tours of the house and museum, and remarks from guest speakers. This event marks a significant milestone in the society’s efforts to preserve and honor the history of East Pennsboro Township.
The Enola Miller House, built in 1841 by Henry Longsdorf using stone from nearby Blue Mountain, is the oldest standing building in East Pennsboro Township. It is known as the birthplace of Enola Miller, the girl for whom the town of Enola and the Enola Rail Yard were named.
Recognized for its historical significance, the house was added to the Cumberland County Register of Historic Places in 2018. When development threatened its future, the community rallied to save it. In April 2021, Wolfe House & Building Movers successfully relocated the 430-ton stone house approximately 1,300 feet to its new location at 51 Miller Street. This achievement was made possible through donated land from the Capital Area Intermediate Unit and strong support from the Historical Society of East Pennsboro.
The Historical Society invites residents, history enthusiasts, and community members to attend and celebrate this important piece of local heritage.
