Knightly News graduating presidents and West Shore Connect program highlight Episode #211

By Paul Miller

Knightly News Co-Adviser

On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome Co-Presidents Dalton Koller and Bret Saveleski to reflect upon their time at Central Penn College as they prepare for graduation at the end of the term. On the second segment, four members of the West Shore Connect program join the show as part of our recent “Connection Tuesday” event on campus.

During our time with Koller and Saveleski, the group shares their favorite memories during their time at Central Penn College. For both, the participation with the Knights athletic games and broadcasts clearly ranked high on the list.

The episode, recorded just after the recent Athletics and Activities Banquet, allowed the group to share their feelings about the Knightly News winning the prestigious “Club of the Year” award.

Both individuals stressed the importance of getting involved in campus clubs and organizations as a way to build skills, meet people, and develop lasting relationships with faculty and staff that can open doors in the future.

The Knightly News will greatly miss Koller and Saveleski and wish them well in the future.

On the second segment of the podcast, the Knightly News welcomed the West Shore Connect program on campus for their monthly “Connection Tuesday” event. Each month, the group teams with a student club or organization to have a special gathering to enjoy the company of one another.

During this “Connection Tuesday,” the Knightly News had the chance to host the group for a podcast. Knightly News Reporters Noah Lopez and Alex Foley each hosted a segment with the West Shore Connect students. After the podcast, the Knightly News engaged in a board game and ping pong tournament in the Underground, all accompanied by some fantastic snacks in the MPR.

Members of West Shore Connect who appear on the podcast are: Elijah Huhn, Marissa Ohl, Clarissa  Rudy and Elida Luciano-Diaz.

As discussed on the show, the West Shore Connect graduation will take place in the Capital BlueCross Theatre on June 18. Save the date and join the group to celebrate their accomplishments during their time at Central Penn College!
