By Paul Miller

Knightly News Co-Adviser

On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, Professor Tom Davis stops by to chat about the upcoming Nov. 6 CPC Film Series and his presentation of “Robin Hood: Men in Tights” and Student Government Association (SGA) President Michelle Donaghy to discuss her legacy as she prepares for graduation.

During our first segment with Davis, we discuss his love of film, especially in the comedy genre. Davis shares his background with film, while also discussing why Mel Brooks, the director of the film he is presenting, resonates with him.

Also joined by Knightly News Reporter Dylan Bowman in his debut performance on the podcast, the group shares their favorite comedies with the audience.

Bowman, a first-term transfer student, has dabbled in filmmaking in the past, with his own Fellowship Studios production company that he has worked with for several years.

The CPC Film Series event will take place on Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. in the Capital BlueCross Theatre. You can get free tickets to the event by visiting http://www.givebutter.com/cpcfilms2021.

On the second segment of the podcast, we welcome SGA President Michelle Donaghy to discuss her reflection from her time as the student leader on campus.

Donaghy, a 17-year-old Central Penn College senior, is on track to graduate with a bachelor’s degree before she turns 18. She has also been a full-time hire with Highmark after successfully completing her internship there earlier this year.

Also joining the podcast is Knightly News President Jenelle Dulack, discussing tips for students who suffer from burn-out as the result of school, work and family obligations.

As Donaghy reflects on her time as SGA President, she was very clear about what she views her legacy as, developing additional transparency between students and administration. She provides several examples of initiatives that have been advanced in 2021, and she hopes that she is able to continue developing this transparency for the remainder of her term.
