2025 Knights soccer season subject of Episode #216

On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we are joined by coaches from the Central Penn Knights men’s and women’s soccer teams. In the first segment, we are joined by women’s head soccer coach Rudy Grubesky, discussing the gains of last season while previewing this season. On the second segment, we welcome men’s head soccer coach Chris Hartman to reflect upon the outstanding 2024 season while looking ahead to what is in store for 2025.
During the first segment with Grubesky, the group discussed the final two games of last season, both victories, with one coming during homecoming at Skyline Sports Complex. Those victories helped to give the women’s team momentum coming into this season, especially with a number of key returning players.
Knightly News President Noah Lopez also joined the show, sharing discussions about the team dynamics during the off-season.
The Lady Knights kick off their season on Sept. 12 at Trinity Washington. They have their first home match on Oct. 1. For more information, you can view their schedule here and their roster here.

On the second segment of the podcast, we welcome new men’s soccer coach Chris Hartman. This segment began with a discussion about last year’s amazing season, where the Knights went 14-4, which included an ESAC Championship and making it to the finals at the USCAA National Tournament.
Hartman, an assistant coach during last season’s dream run, has stepped into the fold this season as head coach. During the latter part of the episode, we discussed returning players, new faces who have joined the team, and the progress made during the off-season.
