Knightly News to have general interest meeting for new members

The Knightly News Media Club will hold a general interest meeting on Aug. 26 from noon – 1 p.m. in ATEC 308 in hopes of recruiting new members to Central Penn College’s student news organization.
The goal of this meeting is to welcome students who are interested in the Knightly News. We are actively looking for student reporters, photographers, podcasters and people interested in being involved in our basketball broadcasts in the fall.
The meeting will offer a complimentary lunch and an opportunity for individuals to speak to our club leadership about ways they can get involved with our organization.
Students can get involved in a variety of ways. If they are looking to be a reporter, students can write about topics related to Central Penn College, the surrounding Enola area, or any subject pertaining to their major or general interest.
Individuals interested in podcasting can be featured on our Knightly News Podcast, a bi-weekly interview show highlighting the happenings at Central Penn. Students can also start their own podcasts that may have a wide range of subject matters.
In terms of photography, we are looking for sports photographers to cover our basketball games starting in November, as well as general photographers to support our student reporters. Additionally, we are seeking individuals to serve as producers or commentators for Central Penn athletic broadcasts. Those who work with our sports broadcasts have the ability to elevate to a paid position after an initial trial period.
The Knightly News, celebrating our tenth year in operation, is a six-time Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association (PNA) award winner and three-time Club of the Year at Central Penn College. The club is led by Co-Advisers Michael Lear-Olimpi and Dr. Paul Miller, as well as President Noah Lopez, Vice President Hannah Pasquarella and Secretary Alex Foley.
