Guinness World Record and CPC Film Series headline Episode #224
By Paul Miller
Knightly News Co-Adviser
On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome Knightly News Hall of Famer Andrew Hunter to talk about his recent experience in setting a Guinness World Record for the longest pickleball match. On the second segment, we welcome Knightly News President Noah Lopez to chat more about hosting the 30th edition of the CPC Film Series when he presents “Fight Club” on Feb. 27.
On the first segment of the podcast with Hunter, we discussed how he first started playing pickleball, an appreciation of the game that came from a high school gym class and grew thanks to roommates at Central Penn who played regularly.
As Hunter continued to grow an appreciation for the game, he found himself working at Ace Pickleball in Enola, allowing him to meet several individuals with the same passion. This passion led to preliminary conversations about breaking this record and the logistics surrounding the Guinness World Record process.
During the fall 2025 term, Knightly News President Noah Lopez wrote an article previewing the world record attempt. That article can be found here.
During the podcast, Hunter shared with us more information about the record attempt itself, the aftermath of the record bid (while also appearing on WITF’s “The Spark”), and the fact that the record was broken not 24 hours after Hunter and his group completed the feat.
The podcast was also joined by Knightly News Reporter Arsenio Humphrey, someone who was an official Guinness World Record witness as part of the event. Humphrey talked about his impressions of the record attempt, especially in terms of the role witnesses played for the group.
On the second segment of the podcast, Knightly News President Noah Lopez stops by to preview his upcoming CPC Film Series event on Feb. 27 as he presents “Fight Club.”
The CPC Film Series will be celebrating its 30th edition, an event that holds a special place in Lopez’s heart. Lopez has been to every film series since he came to campus in the fall of 2023. Additionally, Lopez is very close to graduation, with only one more term remaining, so he wanted to take a more active role on campus during his final few months.
The CPC Film Series has a rich history over the last decade on the Summerdale campus, as recently chronicled by Knightly News Co-Adviser Paul Miller, having seen 20 different presenters from every facet of the campus community. A list of dates, times and presenters can be seen here.
After listening to the podcast, be sure to mark your calendars for the event, taking place in the Capital BlueCross Theatre. Lopez is planning on doing an arm wrestling contest before the show, followed by his presentation at 6:30 p.m. and the film screening at 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
