2026 Knights baseball recap headlines Episode #231

On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome Central Penn College Knights baseball players David Thomas and Nic Joseph to relive the season that was, including winning a fourth consecutive ESAC Championship and securing a second straight berth to the Small College World Series. During the show, we chat more about the expectations coming into the season, Joseph’s final Senior Night, rivalry games and much more.
The episode opened with a discussion about the expectations surrounding the Knights after coming off the best season in program history. From there, we talked about the challenges of playing spring baseball in Pennsylvania, especially after the region was hit by a record-setting January storm. The Knights managed to play two games in February before field conditions forced them into a layoff of more than a month.
Then, the conversation shifted to early-season games, especially the eight-game homestand in late March, including a game where Joseph hit one of the most memorable home runs in program history, a walk-off against Christendom.
Also joining the episode is Knightly News Reporter Khalil Dukes, who is also the current athletics intern and basketball player. Dukes shared his insight on being a senior who has (potentially) played his final game. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, both Dukes and Joseph still have a year of eligibility left, even though they are graduating at the end of the term.
In the second half of the show, the focus shifted to games later in the season, including Senior Night, in which Joseph hit his second walk-off base hit of the season at home, and the Knights winning their fourth consecutive ESAC Conference Championship.
To end the show, Thomas and Joseph had the opportunity to share their thoughts on the Small College World Series, a postseason tournament that the Knights made for the second straight year, where only 10 teams in the entire USCAA conference receive a berth.
