On Monday, I had the pleasure of hosting my first event on campus for the Athletics Department.

We had a great turnout to our 2v2 (two players per team) cornhole tournament. We had a total of eight teams, which has been the most teams we’ve had for all our campus cornhole tournaments.

As an intern for the Central Penn Athletics Department, I must host at least three events on campus.

It was my first event, and I was a little nervous, but the overall experience was amazing. It felt wonderful to see everyone smiling, laughing and enjoying themselves.

We had two games going on at once and when games were finished, one player from a team would report the score to me.

Thank you, everyone who came out to support me, and congratulations to Mikeal Picot, Central Penn database systems analyst, and Steve Hassinger, director of the college’s career services department, for winning the tournament.

The next event will be a campus pool party with games, food and music, at 5 p.m., on Aug. 9.

For information on future events, email Central Penn Athletic Director Kasey Hicks at [email protected] or me at [email protected].

I hope to see even more people at the next event and other future events!
