On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome the Dean of Career Services and Development Steve Hassinger to preview the upcoming CPEC Job Fair – “Tailgate and Relate” event and coaches and members of the Central Penn College esports team to discuss their inaugural season.

During our time with Hassinger, we discuss the shift from a traditional job fair to this new event style. Hassinger shared about the low attendance at the 2021 CPEC Job Fair and a focus on developing relationships as the main reason for the change this year.

The event, taking place on Nov. 2 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Adams-Ricci Park in Enola, will focus on a more casual environment, though Hassinger says that it is still important for students to represent themselves well to employers.

To find a list of employers, students can check out the fair’s official site at College Central Network by clicking here. For further questions or for transportation, students can reach out to careerservices@centralpenn.edu.

On the second segment of the show, we welcome our esports team. Representing the team are head coach Mikeal Pecot, assistant coach Donnie Lewis, captain Angel Gutierrez and, from the Knightly News, Nik Hogan.

On the show, the group discusses the inception of the esports team, how the group handled the interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and key results from their debut season.

The esports team has two games remaining during the regular season this fall, on Oct. 26 and Oct. 31. They can be viewed on the official Central Penn esports Twitch channel. The team will return during the winter term for their spring season.
