Episode #137 features October events and fall Internship Fair

On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome the Dean of Student Engagement Adrienne Thoman to discuss October events and Internship Coordinator Kristin Fike to discuss the upcoming Internship Fair and her work with the Colleges Against Cancer Club on campus.

During our time with Thoman, we discuss a variety of important events coming up on campus, including Central Penn College’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month (during Week 1), National Coming Out Day (Oct. 11) and our homecoming celebration (Oct. 15 – 17).

In addition, “Adrienne’s Featured Three” events were discussed:

  1. Welcome Week – Pancakes with the President (Oct. 6), Back to Class Blast (Oct. 7)
  2. Sailesh the Hypnotist – Oct. 21 from 6 to 7 p.m.
  3. Field of Screams – Oct. 29

On the second segment of the show, we welcome Internship Coordinator Kristin Fike to discuss the upcoming Fall Internship Fair.

Joined by Knightly News Vice President Jamie Harmon, the group discusses the shift back to in-person job fairs and the impact that the pandemic has had on graduating students since 2020. Also, the group discusses best practices for going to an internship fair, even if this is your first term on campus.

During the final part of the show, Fike discusses her work with the Colleges Against Cancer club on campus, specifically outlining what the members are doing to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
