By Paul Miller
Knightly News Co-Adviser
On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome Knightly News Hall of Fame member Brian Christiana to preview his upcoming CPC Film Series presentation on “V for Vendetta” and Student Success Coach Megan Kaiser to discuss events with the Armed Forces Association at Central Penn College.
During our time with Christiana, we had the opportunity to discuss the meaning of film. Christiana discussed a wide array of films that he loves but pointed out that “V for Vendetta,” set in the DC Comics universe, started a trend for future superhero films by developing the main character as the anti-hero.
The podcast was also joined by Knightly News Reporter Andrew Hunter, who also shared his love for film.
The CPC Film Series, which will be held on May 19 at 6 p.m., will feature Christiana presenting about the film. In his presentation, he aims to share parallels between the film and current events, as well as the anti-hero discussion.
The Student Government Association will be sponsoring the event, offering refreshments for donation to the club.
The schedule of events is below.
- 6 p.m. – Doors open
- 6:30 p.m. – Christiana presents about “V for Vendetta”
- 7 p.m. – Film Screening
On the second segment of the podcast, we welcome Student Success Coach Megan Kaiser to chat about the upcoming Armed Forces Association (AFA) Movie Night featuring “Dog” on May 5.
Kaiser, who transitioned to Student Success Coach at the beginning of the year, has also stepped into a co-adviser role with the AFA as part of that position.
During the episode, we discuss the upcoming movie night but also speak about the importance of mental health in the lives of our military men and women.
Kaiser also previewed two other events, the Memorial Day Celebration Cookout on May 23, and the Sept. 11 Day of Service in the fall.
