On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome Athletic Director Kasey Hicks to recap the last sports season at Central Penn College, focusing on gains made to the athletic department in the 2024-25 academic year. On the second segment, we welcome the Associate Vice President of Student Services Dr. Erika Wilkinson to discuss a variety of initiatives from her office as we enter the summer term.
During the first segment with Hicks, we discussed the amazing progress that the Central Penn College athletics has seen over the past year, including the men’s soccer team’s trip to the USCAA national finals and the men’s baseball team making the Small College World Series.
During the episode, we are also joined by Knightly News President Noah Lopez, who reflects on his entry into the sports broadcasting world. During the 2024-25 campaign, Lopez produced our basketball livestream and was a photographer for the baseball team.
Before the podcast concluded, the group had the opportunity to speak about several new coaches in Knights athletics, including men’s basketball, men’s soccer, cross country and volleyball.
On the second segment of the podcast, we welcome Associate Vice President of Student Services Dr. Erika Wilkinson to discuss a variety of programming that students can partake in during the summer term to enrich their experience at Central Penn.
The group, again joined by club President Noah Lopez, started the discussion with the Bridge to Success program. This program offers the opportunity to network with other students by their involvement in a variety of programming surrounding ethical use of AI, developing positive mental health skills, and fostering a community of learning on campus.
The Bridge to Success program is offered weekly and takes place on different days of the week. Wilkinson asks that students, faculty and staff review the weekly events calendar that is sent out every Monday to learn more about the individual events.
Then, the conversation shifted to one of the biggest events of the summer term, the Knights Roundtable. In the summer term, the Knights’ Roundtable will feature a panel of seven distinguished religious and political leaders speaking on a variety of topics. This event is open to faculty, staff, students, and the community and will take place July 29 at noon in the Conference Center.
