The Central Penn College Gaming Club is leveling up the competition on campus and is always seeking new members to get involved in connecting, competing or having fun.

The club offers a space for all gamers to come together and grow.

Club adviser Donnie Lewis explained that, while he oversees the group, the club is student-run and that members are seeking a new president to help lead upcoming activities.

Inside the Steve Shoemaker Gaming Center, members can enjoy a range of consoles, including Xbox, PlayStation and PC, while meeting others who share their gaming interests.

One interesting thing about the club is that they have quarterly events, like NBA 2K, Madden NFL Football, Mario Cart and Fortnite tournaments.

The same space also serves as home to Central Penn’s growing esports program, led by Lewis as well, who also coaches several competitive teams.

“We currently have two Fortnite teams and one Rocket League team,” Lewis said. “Our Rocket League team even won a national championship, and we placed in the top four in the country for Call of Duty.”

Lewis added that the program plans to expand with new teams for games that represent the interest of the players.

Residential and online students are welcome to join. While online players can practice from home, they will need to come to campus only for competitions.

Students interested in joining the CPC Gaming Club or the esports program can contact Lewis at [email protected] or call (717) 728-2312 for more information.
