The Central Penn College baseball team will be having a pulled pork fundraiser for the upcoming 2022 season on Nov. 12 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) on the first floor of Bollinger Hall.

The food options will include a pulled pork sandwich ($8) and pulled pork dinners ($12). Dinners include meat and choice of two sides. You can choose between coleslaw, mac and cheese, and collard greens.

“I am excited to share my secret recipe for pork with the Central Penn community,” Coach Robert Stern said. “I have been told it is legendary.”

The money will be going toward transportation needs for the team. The team has 24 players and will be welcoming more in the spring. This growth for the program will require expanded transportation options to accommodate the team.

Stern’s cooking background goes back to when he used to cook with his grandma. His favorite things to cook are pulled pork, brisket and chicken. In the past, Stern has catered a variety of events, including a wedding for 450 people.

To preorder, contact one of the baseball players with your order and payment. You will receive a receipt to bring to the MPR on the date of the fundraiser to pick up your food. You can also reach out to Stern directly by emailing robertstern@centralpenn.edu.

The baseball team’s season starts at the beginning of March. Last season ended with a 6-12 record, but several incoming first-year students have the team poised to return to the postseason.
