By Paul Miller

Knightly News Co-Adviser

On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, Professor Miller welcomes Dean Jared Rife to the show to discuss the new general education roll-out for the summer term and welcome Black Student Union Adviser Asia Sargent and President Anier Caldwell-Brooks to discuss upcoming club events and discussions about social change in our society.

On our segment with Rife, we discuss the number of changes that are happening in academics around the college, including the five-day class schedule, new general education curriculum, and new minors and certificates that are rolling out.

Also joining this segment is Knightly News Reporter Rebert Thompson, who gives a student perspective on the changes on his first-ever podcast

On the second segment of the podcast, we welcome BSU Adviser Asia Sargent and President Anier Caldwell-Brooks to chat about the Black Student Union on campus.

Also joined by Knightly News Co-President Jenelle Dulack, the group discusses upcoming events for the club, including the BSU Lock-In, the Juneteenth celebration, and their efforts for the Black History Month event that took place in February.

In addition, the group also discusses why issues of race do not have staying power in the media and look at what we can do to help change this.
