Winter events and Center for Teaching Excellence highlight Episode #163

On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome the Associate Vice President of Student Engagement Adrienne Thoman to preview upcoming events on campus during the winter term and the Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence Dr. Tom Davis to chat about his new position, his new club, and recap his first publication from 2022.

During our time with Thoman, we discuss the HUB in Bollinger Hall, a reimagined learning center with faculty holding office hours throughout the week. Thoman stressed that students take advantage of this new resource and help guide what the future of the space will look like.

In addition, we discussed “Adrienne’s Featured Three” events of the winter term, which are listed below:

  1. Humane Society visits campus – Jan. 18, ATEC Lobby, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  2. Dunkin’ Crusier with free coffee – Jan. 20, Quad, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

On the second segment of the podcast, we welcome the newly-minted Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence Dr. Tom Davis. In this segment, we discuss the creation of the Musical Knights club on campus and more about his new director position.

In addition, we discuss Dr. Davis and Professor Paul Miller’s publication of a book chapter as part of the “Rock Music Icons: Musical and Cultural Impacts” text that was released in the fall of 2022.
