By Paul Miller

Knightly News Co-Adviser

On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome the Executive Director of the Central Penn College Education Foundation Sandy Box to preview the winter term’s scholarship application and Associate Vice President of Equity and Student Success Megan Peterson to chat about new initiatives at the college, the success of the HUB, and tips for students working their new faculty advisers.

During our time with Box, we discuss some of the history of the Education Foundation, which was put into place at the college in 2004.

From there, the group discusses the Education Foundation Scholarship, which is open now through Feb. 24 at http://foundation.centralpenn.edu. This term’s question focuses on applicants and their civic and community involvement.

Knightly News Reporter Nik Hogan also joins the podcast, bringing a student perspective to the episode and sharing tips for success in the scholarship application.

On the second segment of the podcast, we welcome Associate Vice President of Equity and Student Success Megan Peterson to discuss changes and improvements to aspects of student life on campus starting at the beginning of the year.

Discussions center around the early successes of the Learning Hub in Bollinger Hall, Central Penn College’s new partnership with M&S EAP for student counseling, and new staff members in the student success office.

In addition, we were joined by Knightly News Vice President Sarah Whitmire to chat about the transition back to faculty advising and student perception of the Learning Hub.
