“Stories From Our Past” and Knightly News Brief headline Episode #182

By Paul Miller

Knightly News Co-Adviser

On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome Dr. Amanda Stuckey, Blake Myers and Abbee Breski to discuss the IDS401: Topics in Service Learning class from the fall term and their upcoming “Stories From Our Past” presentation. On the second segment, Abbee Breski returns to give the fall edition of the Knightly News Brief.

Stuckey’s IDS401 class presentation is a culmination of a term-long project that used artifacts from the Boyer House attic to illustrate the history of Central Penn College. Students used three relics that they found there to consider the piece from various perspectives, showing the history and tradition associated with the college at large.

Knightly News President Abbee Breski and reporter Blake Myers also joined the episode, as they are part of Stuckey’s class. In their discussions, they share what this experience has meant to them, how they can employ these skills in their future careers, and fun facts they learned during the experience.

As part of this class, they will present their findings in a campus-wide presentation on Dec. 14 at noon in ATEC 204. All are welcome to attend.

On the second segment of the show, Abbee Breski shares the fall edition of Knightly News Brief, an audio version of some of our stories from the term. The following stories are featured:

  • “Central Penn’s library is a trove of resources” – Terrance Hall
  • “Women’s soccer team scores with Bras Across the Bridge” – Sara Walters
  • “Who helms Central Penn scholarship fundraising?” – Abbee Breski
  • “Four alumni members inducted into Knightly News Hall of Fame” – Paul Miller
  • “Fear and frights highlight fall CPC Film Series” – Nik Hogan
