On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome Communication Professor Susan Black to preview her upcoming CPC Film Series presentation of Tim Burton’s “Sleepy Hollow” and Athletics Coordinator Kenton Alston to preview the upcoming men’s and women’s basketball season.

During our time with Black, we discuss the lore of director Tim Burton, sharing thoughts about what makes his style unique. In looking at his previous films, like “Beetlejuice,” “Batman,” “Sweeney Todd” and others, the group outlines the charm of Burton’s work.

Knightly News Reporter Noah Lopez joins the podcast and shares more about his love for film during the episode.

The CPC Film Series will take place on Oct. 25 in the Capital Blue Cross Theatre and is free and open to the public. The doors open at 6 p.m., with Black’s presentation at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available for donation to the Knightly News.

On the second segment of the podcast, we welcome Kenton Alston to preview the upcoming men’s and women’s basketball seasons.

Many of the Knights’ home games early in the season will be on the road, but the home opener doubleheader against Penn State—York looms on Nov. 12. The men’s and women’s teams have many returning players and are poised to have a bright season ahead of them.

The episode is also joined by Knightly News Co-President Bret Saveleski, who weighs in with his perspective of the cross country season, in which he participated as part of the team.
