Education Foundation scholarship and campus events headline Episode #194
By Paul Miller
Knightly News Co-Adviser
On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome the Executive Director of the Central Penn College Education Foundation Sandy Box to discuss the upcoming Golf Open and the scholarship application for the summer term. On the second segment, we welcome Elijah Tinson to chat about campus events in August and September.
During our time with Box, the episode begins with a bittersweet announcement that she will retire at the end of the calendar year. As part of this transition, she is currently working on a major project with Knightly News President Abbee Breski to ensure the organization’s stability moving forward. Breski, who also joined the podcast, discussed this project in detail.
In addition, the group discussed the upcoming Central Penn College Education Foundation scholarship application, which will be open Aug. 5 – 30 at http://foundation.centralpenn.edu. This year, the question is: How will you use your degree and education to make a difference in your life and your community?
During the episode, Box and Breski stressed many ways that students can be successful on the scholarship application, including checking the box about the Stabler Foundation and making sure they are going above and beyond the 200-word limit.
Near the end of the episode, the group gave a final pitch for people to participate in the Central Penn College Education Foundation, which will take place on Aug. 9 at Rich Valley Golf. There are only slots for a few teams left. For more information, visit https://www.centralpenn.edu/golf/.
