On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome Associate Professor of English Dr. Amanda Stuckey to preview her upcoming presentation of “The Social Network” for the CPC Film Series. On the second segment, we welcome the Director of Housing and Residence Life Lindsay Garber to chat about February’s College Pantry drive and the benefits of becoming an RA.

During our time with Stuckey, we discuss the upcoming CPC Film Series presentation of “The Social Network,” taking place on Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. in the Capital Blue Cross Theatre. During her presentation, she will share about the evolution of misinformation while discussing the impact on the public at large.

Also joining the show is Film Series Correspondent Nik Hogan, who talks a lot about the success of this original film and understanding social media’s impact on college students.

The CPC Film Series is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available for a donation to the Knightly News Media Club and Gamma Beta Phi.

On the second segment of the podcast, we chat about the College Pantry and the upcoming Gamma Beta Phi Pantry Drive, taking place during the entire month of February.

During this show, Garber shares more information about the types of things that the pantry needs in addition to food, such as personal care items, cleaning items and school supplies.

Knightly News Co-President Bret Saveleski also joins the show, discussing the Career Closet, an initiative from Career Services that offers Central Penn students free access to professional clothing.

Finally, Garber discusses the RA program on campus. RA applications will open at the beginning of the spring term, but anyone with interest in becoming an RA can reach out to lindsaygarber@centralpenn.edu.
