Education Foundation Scholarship and COM270 News Brief highlight Episode #205

On this episode of the Knightly News Podcast, we welcome the Executive Director of the Central Penn College Education Foundation Trisha Comstock to discuss this month’s Foundation scholarship essay application. On the second segment of the podcast, students from our COM270 class discuss a variety of news events around campus in the Knightly News Brief.

During our time with Comstock, the group offers tips on approaching the scholarship application. The question this term offers students the opportunity to reflect on a time of failure. But as the Comstock discusses on the podcast, the goal is to discuss personal growth as the result of this failure.

The podcast was also joined by News Correspondent Noah Lopez, offering a student perspective on ways to be successful on the scholarship application.

To apply for the scholarship, students can go to http://foundation.centralpenn.edu. The scholarship application is open until Feb. 28, but students are encourage to apply at their earliest convenience.

Comstock also shared “Save the Date” announcements for two upcoming events from the Foundation. First, “A Knight Out” is a fundraiser taking place in the Conference Center on April 3. More information can be found here. Also, the Central Penn College Education Foundation Golf Open will take place at Rich Valley Golf on Aug. 15.

On the second segment of the podcast, students from the COM270: Writing for Broadcast Media offer their Knightly News Brief. Students in the class have been working on an individual story since the beginning of the term, culminating with audio editions of their work on this podcast.

Students featured are: Anderson Bridwell, Noah Lopez, Tyler Daron, Hannah Pasquarella, Emmilee Brown, Owen Zell and Laura Struble.
