On Jan. 30, Jennifer Mariacher, Central Penn College’s vice president for administration and finance and chief financial officer, sent an email to Central Penn students informing them that tuition and fees will be rising, effective July 1.
The school’s board of directors approved Central Penn’s fiscal-year 2025 budget in November and set tuition and fees for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The administration said that while the school’s priority is to keep costs affordable for students, rising costs at Central Penn College and nationwide required a tuition increase.

“Central Penn College always prioritizes affordability,” President Linda Fedrizzi-Williams said. “We’ve held tuition steady for the past two years while many institutions across the country implemented large increases. However, rising operational costs, particularly in utilities and food, now require a modest adjustment. We remain committed to supporting our students and ensuring the value of a Central Penn education remains strong.”
Tuition will increase 3.14 percent, bringing the cost per credit to $525 for undergraduates and $693 for graduate students.
Costs now are $509 per undergraduate credit and $672 per graduate credit. The student-and-technology fee will remain at $510 for five or more credits and $315 for four or fewer credits.
According to the email, the housing and meal plan will also be increasing, marking the first adjustment in at least five years, even with ongoing national inflation and national housing and food prices rising 4.27 percent rising 28 percent, respectively, since 2019.

Super-suite dorm rates will increase by a 9.811 percent, raising the cost to $1,595 per term. The current cost for super suite is $1,452 per term.
Meal plans will increase by about 5 percent. The increase will affect meal plans in the following way:
- The 14-meals-per-week plan will rise to $1,125.
- The 10-meals-per-week plan will rise to $780.
- The 75-meal block will rise to $550, and the 110-meal block will rise to $840.
Currently, the plans cost:
- Fourteen meals per week, $1,075.
- Ten meals per week, $745.
- Seventy-five meal block, $525.
- One hundred 10-meal block, $800.
